Meet Philippa
I’m Philippa, a mum of three and the founder of Smout’s Interior Cleaning.
I started Smout’s with a simple goal, to build a business I could be genuinely proud of, while creating a better balance for my family.
What began as a small idea has grown into a trusted local cleaning business and a team of five, all committed to providing a reliable, professional service with a personal touch.
With a background in project management, administration and running my own businesses, I’ve brought those skills into the way Smout’s operates today. We’re organised, detail focused and professional, but we never lose sight of the people behind the homes we clean.
We understand that life gets busy. Between work, family, children and everything else competing for your time, keeping on top of the house can feel like another full time job. That’s where we come in.
Our aim is simple, to take cleaning off your list, give you back valuable time and help you enjoy coming home to a clean, fresh and beautifully cared-for home.
What's In A Name?
“Smout” is my maiden name, a name I used to shy away from as a child, but one I now wear with enormous pride.
Today, Smout represents more than a family name. It represents a small group of local businesses built on hard work, honesty, reliability and doing things properly.
My brother Jake runs Smout’s Pressure Washing, providing high quality exterior cleaning with the same attention to detail and high standards that we pride ourselves on. My other brother Zac runs Smout’s Waste Management, providing a reliable, professional service to homes and businesses across the local area.
Although we each run our own businesses, our services naturally complement one another. From the outside of a property to the inside, and everything in between, we’re able to recommend and support one another when our customers need a service beyond what we provide ourselves.
Watching my brothers build successful, trusted businesses within our community gave me the confidence to take the leap into self employment myself. With their encouragement, advice and support, I started Smout’s Interior Cleaning.
What began as a leap of faith has grown into a team of five, a business I’m incredibly proud of, and a career I genuinely love. It has given me a better balance for my family while allowing me to build something of my own.
So choosing the name Smout’s Interior Cleaning was never simply a branding decision. It was about carrying forward something that means a lot to me, a family name built on hard work, trust and pride in what we do.
